'Gleda' will be a James Wharram designed Tiki 38  and will be both my home and my travel machine. 'Gleda' is an Old English girls name meaning ' to make happy'.

I anticipate that it will take me 2-3 years to build her but I am prepared for it to take 5 if necessary. I do not consider building a necessary evil but rather an opportunity to take pride and pleasure in creating something of beauty.

I shall use this page to set out the major milestones along the way whilst using the journal to record the day to day events.

August 2006

Found a Build Site - After weeks of searching, a newspaper advert paid off and I was offered space in a barn for a very reasonable rent. Located only a few miles from my office it appears to be the perfect place.

September 2006

Found a new home - Sealed the deal on long term let of a small converted stable located 3 miles from my office and 2 miles from the build site. I will be moving in at the beginning of October.

Sorted finances - Obtained funds for project start and schedule for balance.
